Bill Chase Biography

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?

Hi! My weekend “career”, playing guitar and bass, began with playing the local Joplin, Missouri area bar scene in 1975.

In 1979, my rock band was reviewed in Rock Scene Magazine. This opened the door to recording sessions with drummer Mark Murdock of Japanese TV and movie fame.

My connection with Mark Murdock enabled further recording sessions with Australian keyboardist Allan Zavod, from Jean-Luc Ponty and Frank Zappa’s bands, and British “Brand-X” bassist Percy Jones in the early 1980s.

On another live gig in the 1980s, I played in Frankie Avalon’s band.

During the big guitar “hair band” era of the 1980s I toured as front man / singer / bassist of the regionally popular Midwest metal band “3 Guns West”.

The 1990s ushered in a new era for most of us. I began my day career as an Accountant. (Somehow I found time in the 1980s to earn an MBA.) I returned to the Joplin bar scene on weekends. During one show in Kansas City, I was introduced to a staff member of Guitarist Network Magazine, Brad Enquist, and a review in that magazine followed shortly.

In 2003 I joined my current classic rock band “Too Mothers Left” based in Joplin. Among other venues, we perform from time to time on Branson’s “76 Music Road.” We were featured on a local TV show in 2007. Our YouTube video is enjoying views from around the world.
