Hi!

I’m Gabor Jakab, a 18-year-old guitarist from Hungary. I started to play guitar at the age of 10 at a music school, but after a year I stopped. Later when I started to listen to rock music I was 12 then I got up my guitar again and tried to play along with my fav CDs and play the great riffs (such as Purple, Zepp, Maiden, Metallica).
At 12 I scraped acquaintance with the hungarian heavy metal band called Ossian. I was amazed of their music. Powerful riff-workery and melodic solos in a catchy music environment. And of course the lyrics. This band and the guitarists, Zoltan Marothy and Richard Rubcsics extremely influenced me.
Music changed my life, without music I would be a ghost.
I like every kind of music which has melody in it. My musical spectrum has flared, so I listen to a wide variety of music now: I like ’90s radio music, rock and pop classics, some blues stuff, the great guitar heroes (Gilbert, Satriani, Vai, Timmons, Moore), hungarian classic heavy metal, other metal (UK and US bands), and so on.
In my free time I record my musical ideas on my PC. This activity really calms me down, and I like doing guitar takes.
I applied to this contest to challenge myself. I know I’m not the next Clapton but I haven’t take part in these kind of guitar contests.
Playing guitar is my hobby, but music is my life!
