i’m 29 years old egyptian guitarist, i started
playing at the age of 13, self taught then took
harmony lessons with berklee graduate pianist Rashad
fahim, i recorded/toured with a lot of artists in the
middle east as well as taking part of some
international projects like music matbakh touring UK
and the middle east,performed in bansko jazz festival
and carthage jazz festival with eftekasat band, I
don’t like to define the style i like or play , it’s
all music to me and u can hear that in my compositions
with my bands ( eftekasat , nagham masry) if u type
these names on youtube u’ll get an idea, i composed
movies soundtrack/ talk shows music/ commercials.. as
well as being a session guitarist for the past 10
years recording a wide variety of music styles…I
like to maintain my egyptian roots and show it in my
music, oriental music is very rich with interesting
and different phrasing and scales that aren’t explored
that much in the rock guitar world…that’s enough for
now..
